Christian Groendyk, a senior at Fort Collins High in Colorado, won the boys individual sweepstakes crown at the 16th Desert Twilight Festival, covering the 5-kilometer course in 15:05.4 at the Coyote Run Golf Course at Leisure World in Mesa, Ariz. Groendyk joined Niwot graduate Zane Bergen (2021) and former Valor Christian standout Cole Sprout (2018) as a Colorado male competitor to capture the sweepstakes title. Groendyk contributed to Fort Collins finishing fourth overall with 193 points.
