Christian Groendyk, a senior at Fort Collins High, won the boys 5-kilometer sweepstakes race in 14:48.0 at the Liberty Bell Invitational at Heritage High in Littleton, Colo. Groendyk helped Fort Collins take third overall with 182 points. Only Cherry Creek graduate Parker Wolfe and former Valor Christian standout Cole Sprout have run faster than Groendyk on the Heritage High 5-kilometer layout.
